Bohinjska Bela lies on the Sava Bohinjka, on the road from Bled to Bohinj. Lake Bled is 7 minutes by car, Lake Bohinj 25 minutes, and Iglica waterfall a 4-minute walk from our house.

Can you do it without a car?
Yes, but it is slower. Lake Bled is just under an hour's walk, partly through the forest. The village has a railway station on the Bohinj line, and a bus runs to Bled and Bohinj. By car you are at the lake in seven minutes, and parking at the house is free.

Our picnic ground on the Sava Bohinjka
The meadow by the river at the edge of the forest is ours. During your stay you can rent it for a picnic or a get-together with food, a vintage car or motorbike meet, or a wedding outdoors. You can also stay the night there in a tent, caravan or camper van.

Archery is free for our guests. Right next to the picnic ground is a 3D archery course looked after by a local club.

Slovenia's largest permanent lake: swimming in summer, Savica waterfall and the cable car up Vogel.
Bled Castle14 min by car
The castle on a rock 130 metres above the lake, with a museum and a view of the island and the Karavanke.
Also close: Vintgar Gorge with its wooden walkways above the Radovna (16 min by car), and Pokljuka with forests, mountain pastures and cross-country skiing in winter (40 min).

- Take the A2 motorway towards Jesenice to the Lesce exit, then drive through Bled and on along the road to Bohinj. About 50 minutes.
- From Austria
- Through the Karavanke tunnel and along the A2 to the Lesce exit. About 30 minutes from the tunnel.
- By plane
- Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport is 36 minutes by car, Klagenfurt airport about an hour.
- By train
- Bohinjska Bela station on the Bohinj railway line is 1.5 km from our house.
